Pump Systems
The primary function of the well pump is to move water from the subsurface to the surface and pressurize the system. Determining the size of the pump is usually done after the well has been completed, and a known gallons per minute (GPM) has been determined. Known distances, diameters of piping, and infrastructure have been identified, along with incoming power. When an exact valuation of well flow rate and pump sizing is desired, a test pump and measurement equipment must be installed, and data collected.
Much of the time, the well driller's report will take care of this question mark in the well development portion of the log, helping to identify the well's overall production for residential-domestic wells. Most wells are air-developed, and this data is usually sufficient for residential-domestic well applications.
For municipal, agricultural, and irrigation-production wells that are going to be used on a 24-7 basis, sizing the pump system based on firm/known data is in the customer's best interest, as the cost to operate and maintain can be consequential.

The water right number is crucial, as it provides the information required to determine the tools and equipment needed for troubleshooting or completing any requested work. If you don't have your water right number, use this (Map Link). Ensure that the "well log" box in the layers dropdown menu is checked before zooming in to your well's location. This tool allows you to zoom in and provides us with the necessary number to identify the information needed for prompt and efficient service.
